About

Hey there!

My name is Alex Taormina, and I’m an experimental artist and illustrator based in Conifer, Colorado. I make most of my work from my home studio, where I live with my husband, Nik, and our very sassy cat.

I hold a BFA in Illustration from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in Lakewood, Colorado.

These days, I’m primarily an acrylic painter, but I’m always experimenting. You’ll occasionally find me dabbling in graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, watercolor, and linocut printmaking—anything that lets me chase a new idea with my hands.

My work often explores themes of folklore, personal transformation, nature, and the slightly uncanny. I’m drawn to unique textures, strong color stories, and the kinds of images that make you feel something—even if you’re not sure what.

After a few years working behind the scenes at a bakery (and learning a lot about strength, grit, and craft), I’ve returned to art full-time with more intention than ever. I’m currently focused on developing new collections and growing my little corner of the creative world. You can find my work on display at Wood’s High Mountain Distillery in Salida, Colorado. I also have some small works and prints available at Chroma Denver, downtown on Broadway.

Thanks for being here—and if you ever want to say hi, collaborate, or talk about art over a cocktail, feel free to reach out.
